Comments about NSS7 Combo GPS/Sonar MFD:
I love this machine and particularly the ability to freeze the depth sounder screen and then "trackback" to bottom structure that I have already passed over. The controls are intuitive and I very quickly learned how to use this unit despite the cryptic operator manual and quick start guide, which were not particularly helpful. The built in GPS antenna works well through my T-top and tower.
I had previously thought that touch screens in a marine setting were not a good idea. The NSS7 has changed my mind and although smudges can be seen on the screen when it is powered down they are not noticeable during operation.
I use a transom mounted Lowrance skimmer transducer, the depth sounder shows good bottom with minimal noise at 28 knots.
