LightHouse User Interface: Designed for the way boaters think, e7’s LightHouse User Interface places frequently used navigation functions at your fingertips with an easy-to-use home screen of your apps and custom navigation pages. Just swipe left or right to access the entire library of e7 capabilities. HybridTouch™ technology gives you a choice between buttonless touchscreen operation or full keypad control when seas are rough. New UniController offers precision control of the joystick cursor, rotary adjustments, and menu commands.

Triple Processors: A powerful multitasker, the e7 is equipped with a dual-core main processor and a third dedicated graphics processor for stunning 3D graphics, brilliant video, and instant chart redraws. Equipped with internal high sensitivity 48-channel GPS sensor and high quality Navionics ready-to-navigate charts on an included microSD card.

Sync with Navionics Mobile: Instantly synchronize waypoint locations, favorite fishing spots and route plans between the e7 and the Navionics Mobile app. Plan your next voyage right on your iPhone or iPad and then wirelessly sync your route plans using the e7’s built in Wi-Fi.

Polarized Sunglass Compatible: Advanced Sport Optic Friendly coating that virtually eliminates the “black out” effect caused when viewing marine displays with polarized sunglasses. No more tilting your head or removing your sunglasses to view the display. Super bright widescreen sunlight-viewable display with advanced, low-amp-draw LED backlighting provides maximum visibility, vibrant color and high contrast from wide viewing angles.

e7D and HD Digital Sonar: For anglers looking for one machine to do it all, the e7D combo version features a built-in dual frequency HD Digital™ sonar capable of depths to 3,000' that targets fish and depicts structure with amazing clarity. The e7D’s intelligent sonar automatically adapts and adjusts for a clear image of fish and bottom contours without complicated controls.

Comments about e7D Network Multifunction Display with Sonar & U.S. Cartography, No Transducer:

Easy to use touchscreen, intuitive controls, lightning fast, built in WIFI and bluetooth connectivity, and the ability to connect to an iPad/tablet as a repeater/controller- the future of navigation hardware and software is here.

This is the perfect alternative to dual station flybridge vessels or sailboats installing multiple expensive branded head units- I installed this unit at the lower station (Bayliner 4087), and use my iPad as a repeater/controller on the flybridge.

Raymarine has an app for the iPad (Raycontrol) that turns your iPad/tablet into a 2nd station for the E7D via wifi; all touchscreen functionality is accessible from the iPad, and the hard control buttons/knobs are accessed by a unique touch interface. Further, you can download an app for your smart phone so it can be used a a remote control.

Another cool trick- using the Navionics app on my iPad, I can plan my route, and when I connect the iPad/tablet to the E7D, the planned tracks are automatically synced with the E7D!

You can also control a digital music device via bluetooth, install and display IF or standard cameras (usedul for backing down or m=navigating at night)- all standard.

Factor in full NMEA 2000 expandability, built in autopilot control, all in an affordable package, and you can see why I give this unit such high marks.
