My dog weighs 92lbs, is skilled in swimming so I though this would be a great add on considering his age of 8. I purchased the recommend size for the dog's weight ... When he jumped into the river I had to reach in and pull him up with the handle bringing his head above water!! He was literally sinking !! I cradled him all the way to the shore. I removed the "life vest" to check it's buoyancy and found it had little to none. I doubled the vest and found minimal effort was needed to push it under the water! Now that that was over I had to reassure my dog that things were ok he eventually swam back to the boat three separate times on his own with out the vest.
I purchased this in case of an emergency for my dog and was really liking the idea but after seeing what I saw this vest won't do it. Seriously if I wasn't there when he jumped in I would have lost my best friend !! Test this product on with dog before relying on a emergency to only assume this will work.

He was literally sinking !! I cradled him until we made it to shore where I found you can easily push this "Life Vest" down into the water, no buoyancy even after I doubled it up. The result, my dog can paddle just fine without it and doesn't sink !! It's a shame, I was really liking the whole pet vest thing but seriously, I almost lost my best friend!!
