This is a true workhorse and my go-to reel. I put this through a lot and it comes back asking for more. I always manually flip back the bail to reduce line twist. This reel has never failed me even when reeling in my personal best 43# striper.
I would highly and confidently recommend this reel so much so that I just bought a 5000. excellent value and a great bang-for-your-buck.

Bought a 4000FB to use for top-water striped bass action. Casting out plug is fine, but bale does not close easily, often requiring a hand to close it. Opened it up and multiple small plastic parts shot out. Sent back to California (only option) for repair, got it back last week, bale still needs help closing.
