Comments about Manual Trailer Winches:
[$] not worth the money, handle stripped on two flat sided shaft. launched 10 times. cranked handle just 1 foot. boat is well under 1800 lb winch rating. Last winch I had forward reverse selector lever cracked frame bracket. Did not look ,but I sure its made in [*], Junk. Boats are a hole in the water. especially when these manufacturers sell you junk. Its worth paying a couple or several extra dollars for made in America. Employ U.S not Foreign workers.

Took it out of the box, handle the handle position change and winch installed in less than ten minutes. First time I took the boat out, upon trailering, hooked up, winched right up, in fact, my wife, 5'3", 140 lbs winched it up because I was used to having to motor the boat up! Great product!!

Comments about Manual Trailer Winches:
I have owned and trailered my 22 foot sailboat for over 30 years and finally the trailer's winch gave away. I replaced my wire unit with this nylon strap winch. I was surprised to find it was almost an exact replacement, and it only took a few minutes to bolt up. My only suggestion for improvement is to make the strap yellow or red etc, so that it can be seen a little easier in the dark water.

Comments about Manual Trailer Winches:
Bolt pattern didn't fit my old trailer, but I drilled out the trailer platform to fit the winch. The clip is too fat for my bow eye, but I solved that one by adding a shackle to the bow eye. Overall, a good product.

Comments about Manual Trailer Winches:
Broke it again today. I bouth a #1600, which is apparently not sold anymore.
I sheared the pin to the ratchet "pin?", I replaced that with another bolt this summer and today the "pin" that locks the ratchet teeth snapped. 18' Lund Alaskan with three guys in it, back half of the boat floating cranking one handed.
