You may not be able to install this on existing lifelines if the end fittings are too large to allow the stops to pass over them.

Comments about Gate Stops:
The Gate Stops are designed and built well. They were easy to install and worked as advertised. I would purchase these again if needed.

Comments about Gate Stops:
On occasion I need to pull in bow first at a marina and undo the lifeline at the bow pulpit. This releases tension in the entire lifeline all the way to the stern. This situation can be dangerous for persons that grab the lifeline for support not realizing that it is loose. The Johnson Gate Stop I installed forward of the front stanchion is the perfect item to stop the lifeline from loosening the entire length.

Comments about Gate Stops:
An unobstrusive way to keep tension on a lifeline when the gate is open. Well machined and finished.
