Now features an environmentally friendly design
Dependable Silver Tin Oxide contacts have replaced the mercury used in the previous generation of this switch. It features a larger float for increased buoyancy, and a convenient snap-in base that allows easy switch removal for cleaning or inspection. A resilient rubber grommet provides strain relief to the sealed wiring that now exits from the top to keep it dry.

Comments about Rule A Matic Float Switch:
Replaced pump and switch after many years of service. New pump still working fine but switch fails to turn on even in maximum up angle. A sharp rap frees up internal (reed?) switch and then the switch fails to turn off in fully down position. SO, if your doesn't sink from the first failure, the battery will be dead following the second failure and will sink after the next heavy rain.

Comments about Rule A Matic Float Switch:
Sad to hear all the complaints on this product. Suspect people are putting pretty nasty products in their bilges to fail these switches. Have been a marine mechanic for long time and this has been pretty reliable.

Comments about Rule A Matic Float Switch:
Installed this winter along with a new pump. Went to the boat this weekend and found the pump running dry and was hot! Tested the switch and it was passing current while closed. It's crazy that this failed since the bilge has been completely dry since installed.. Clearly there is a serious design flaw for this float switch to fail like this..

Comments about Rule A Matic Float Switch:
THe product has become a total waste of money. The old design was awesome. THis one seems to fail within months. The switch sticks in the on position, then totally fails. Highly recommed a different brand of switch. THis switch WILL ALLOW your boat to sink.

Comments about Rule A Matic Float Switch:
THis prodict allows you to give the illusion you didnt want your boat to sink. The switches are pure junk. THey are over priced and last only a few months. The old mercury switches lasted forever. These switches allow you to be somewhere else when your boat sinks....and it will. I wonder if Rule buys boats that its products should have prevented from sinking?

Comments about Rule A Matic Float Switch:
I have to repeat the other comments that are here, the switch does not last very long, sticks in the on mode and drains your batteries completely. I'm very disapointed in the product quality.

Comments about Rule A Matic Float Switch:
I'm going to stop installing Rule float switches or pumps on my client's boats. I write the install date on the component with black marker. I just replaced this float switch after SIX WEEKS which was replacing the exact same switch. Two switches in two months? Luckily it died between visits instead of while the owner was away. Folks, the LAST unreliable part on a boat you want is part of the bilge system. Don't buy these.
