The o-ring sealing system for the motor cartridge is a very poor design. Any expanding of the orange housing will cause a severe leak. Do not use below the water line!

I have several of these for use on my offshore boat. The pumps are fairly reliable and I like the fact I can change out the motor unit without having to detach the body. I have the 750 gph pump and what appears to happen is the impeller gets some air into it (cavitates?) and stops pumping water, although the impeller is spinning. If this could consistently clear air through itself, I'd give it a higher rating.
