Comments about C Shape Profile Dock Edging:
The salesman at our local West Marine suggested this as a solution on the top outer edge of a dock where we want to protect a kayak during launching and removal.
With stainless screws every six inches, the edge of the product remains raised about 1/2 inch from flat. So, we've got a edge bumper with a ruffle top and bottom.
It looks as though to remedy this we would need to use a strip of corrosion-resistant metal about 11/16ths inch wide, maybe 1/8th thick, and pre-drilled in order to get an edge that lays flat.
Pros
- Nice Look
- Strong
- Wellmade

Best Uses

Comments about C Shape Profile Dock Edging:
I purchased two 25' lengths which offered a better $/ft price providing full-length horizontal slip coverage. Installation is similar to a previous reviewer--set 2" Stainless screws w/ a thin SS washer on 8" centers, off-setting top and bottom--so every 4" I placed a screw. It looks smooth and durable so much so that I've already referred the product to a dozen boat owners.
Pros
- Does it's job
- Easy to install
- Looks good
Cons
- 16' piece is 2 8' pieces
- Takes two to install
Best Uses
- Docks
- Small Boats
Comments about C Shape Profile Dock Edging:
I installed this product horizontally on my newly painted dock and it looks great. I had to have my duaghter help me hold it in place, and the 16' piece is actually two 8' pieces, but that wasn't a big deal for me. I spaced the stainless steel screws 6" on center, at the top and bottom, in order to get the bumper to lay properly. But overall it was well worth the effort. I would surely recommend this product to anyone looking to upgrade their docks apperance.
