      Comments about Lifting Ladders:

The ladder is very simple to assemble and install. The lifting feature for storage is a real advantage in my area where barnacles attach in a matter of days so i completely avoid them by simply lifting it up when i am done, also my pier is rather narrow so the the way it lift up and out of the water in the vertical direction makes it less obtrusive and easy to walk around it.

        Comments about Lifting Ladders:

This ladder is on a dock that sees 4 foot saltwater tide changes so keeping out of the water is crucial. It lifts nicely and drops ok, just needs a little wiggling to drop. The most secure way to mount is with pressure treated board under the dock, then drill holes to mount Stainless bolts with washers and nuts. Local hardware stores carry Stainless so it was not expensive or difficult to reach under the dock. Lag bolts only hold by threads and there is a lot of leverage on a ladder so Bolts and nuts are more substantial for securing. I used a plastic washer between the SS bolt head and aluminum to prevent corrosion and thread locker to prevent siezing of the nut in saltwater exposure. Wife and kids LOVE the ladder.

          Comments about Lifting Ladders:

Really a great ladder, used it to replace a cumbersome galvanized-steel one. However, their installation instructions are LUDICROUS, as they tell you to secure the drop down portion by putting knots in 1/8" vinyl-covered cable! That is NOT a reliable way to secure things so I went out and got some wire clamps for a worry-free hold. Why they couldn't provide these in the box, instead of their laughable instructions, is beyond me. Really tarnished the overall excellence of the product.

            Comments about Lifting Ladders:

The ladder was shipped with one of the two screws missing. Not a problem though since I had to go to the store anyway to buy the four lag bolts to anchor it to the dock. In the up position, the ladder was in the water about four inches. There was enough room for me to slide the ladder up enough to get it out of the water and drill two new holes for the screws. The ladder now stays completely out of the water when not in use and is easy to let down when for the kids to jump off the dock into the creek and be able to climb back out.

            Comments about Lifting Ladders:

The water level to my dock at low tide could be as much as 8 feet. This 7 foot ladder is more than I need to get all the way down without it hitting bottom. It easily pulls up to keep it out of water. Installs easily with (unincluded) 4 bolts/nuts or screws (get stainless steal carriage).
