    Comments about Hydrocoat Antifouling Paint:

Pettit recommends multi-coat but I've been using one coat prior to each season for the past couple of years. I suspect skipping a season would not work. Pressure washing at end of season enables minimal sanding prior to new coat. Cleans and applies easily. I previously used Pettit Trinidad but the less expensive and easier to use Hydrocoat protects the bottom just as well in coastal waters off Massachusetts.

          Comments about Hydrocoat Antifouling Paint:

I have a 2001 Bayliner Ciera Sunbridge 3055, I keep it on a trailer at home in the off season, from November to April, I was getting it ready for the 2013 season, servicing the engines, waxing etc. I noticed that my antifouling paint was in need of refreshing after 3 seasons. I called West Marine and described what I had and the lady on the phone recommended Pettit Hydrocoat. I ordered two gallons and it arrived in three days. I pressure washed the bottom of the boat and the drives/props, Then I jacked the boat off the trailer (use caution) and blocked it. I then painted over the trailer bunks, three coat. The next day I lowered the boat on the trailer and painted the rest. Two gallons, three generous coats on a 30ft boat. Goes on easy, water clean up, good finish, minimal smell. The paint dries very fast so don't put too much at the time in the pan because it will make a skin on top. Can't talk durability yet but thus far, very satisfied.

              Comments about Hydrocoat Antifouling Paint:

Easy to apply and cleaned up very easily with water. One gallon was more than enough for 30 foot Sea Ray. Appeared to provide an even coat with no appearance issues where brush versus roller was used. Won't know whether it works until next year. Only issue is top of can and rim had thick globs of dried paint - when mixed in these created bumps in finished coat.

Even less smell than a can of house latex, didn't bother my girlfriends or my skin, easy cleanup.26 ft cabin cruiser great coverage. Won't know about its performance till end of season but heard good things.
If it performs I wouldn't use another paint again as it's so much less caustic and easy to clean than any other bottom paint.

                    Comments about Hydrocoat Antifouling Paint:

I use to rely on Petit Trinidad which is excellent but more expensive. I tried Hydrocoat the last two seasons and am pleased with its protection and ease of cleaning at the end of season (as well as sanding at start of new season).

Painted 28ft/9'9" hull with 1 can, giving 3 coats along the water line, to just under hull as this is the only real fouling area here in Michigan.

Couldn't be happier with ease of application, easy cleanup, barely any discernable smell at all and certainly not offensive or bothersome.

So nice to not have worrys over eating plastic pan liner, rollers, etc. I will used Hydrocoat as long as they make it. Water based was the right choice.
