Comments about SeaGloss Pro One Part Polyurethane Topside Paint:
This topside paint is easy to use and long lasting. Prep work is key. Wash boat with a mild soap then rinse. clean areas to be patched with acetone. apply patch, sand, clean with Acetone again then prime patches or bare spots. A light sanding with xx fine grit at this stage can only help. Critical to wipe entire surface with acetone prior painting. Make sure no residue remains on surface. I Sprayed exterior of boat and rolled/brushed interior. Follow directions for either method. 2 thin coats are best. Helpful hint when brushing is to apply then dab with brush tips to eliminate air bubbles and help level. No marks left behind.Long lasting and looks great. I got close to 10 years out of my paint job.

Comments about SeaGloss Pro One Part Polyurethane Topside Paint:
Make sure you clean and surface sand area to be painted and it comes out great, watch what temp is outside, Urethane takes a long time to dry in the cold. Let it be and you will do just fine.
Don't think you can paint and go out next day give it a chance to get hard and you will love the end result like I do. Secound time in 10 years I had to paint her and will use this again in 10 years.
I use my boat to scuba dive and that abuse is extreme.
6 to 10 times a month min 3 guys with tanks and lead wieghts takes a beating.
All I can say is prep is important for the job to come out right.

Comments about SeaGloss Pro One Part Polyurethane Topside Paint:
I used this product to paint my track car to protect it from the elements. I simply used a 4" foam roller and this paint thinned way beyond recommended ratio 1 part paint to 3 parts thinner (skim milk) to thin out the coats and allow wetsanding between to get an automotive looking paint job. This product works great even thinned that much. I put 8 coats on the car using 1 quart of paint thinned as described. After wetsanding between coats 1000+ grit and buffing the final finish I have minimal orange peel and true 'depth' in the finish. I love how durable it is and how well it stands up to oil, gasoline, brake fluid, etc.

Too early to tell durability but application went well. Will need recommended second coat over primed areas.

Comments about SeaGloss Pro One Part Polyurethane Topside Paint:
Never painted a boat deck before! Old coating was poor and chalking. Followed the instructions on the label and the tips on West Marine web site and my wife and I completely painted the fiberglass deck and cockpit of our 20 foot Hunter in one weekend. Remarkable finish without visible brush strokes. Too early to rate durability, but after setting up the mast and one week of working around it, haven't noticed any problems. Couldn't be happier.

Comments about West Marine SeaGloss Pro One Part Polyurethane Topside Paint:
Just finished applying the product and it went on super smooth. First I thoroughly mixed the contents with about 1/4 cup of thinner to 1 quart, the solids had settled to the bottom. I used the high gloss white and applied it with the tip & roll" method using a smooth foam roller and high quality brush."
Comments about West Marine SeaGloss Pro One Part Polyurethane Topside Paint:
This and the non-skid version of the paint was a waste of money... the non-skid version took a week and a half to dry and i can peel it up with my fingermail after a month. Anything strikes the deck and the paint comes right off. I've been painting boats a long time and I should have know better than using a one part... now I have to strip the deck and start all over again!
Comments about West Marine SeaGloss Pro One Part Polyurethane Topside Paint:
This is a great product, but I would highly recommend using a small foam roller when applying. This will elevate the small bubbles that appear when you brush it on. It will also lay down nice and smooth as if it was sprayed. Use light pressure on the roller when smoothing out.
