Improves sail shape in light air
Boomkicker works in conjunction with your existing vang tackle to support your boom, allowing you to keep the leach of the main open in light air. It supports the boom when the mainsail is down, so rolling your main is a breeze and you no longer need a topping lift. Installs easily inside the vang but independently of it, where it is out of the way. Two coated fiberglass spring rods are clamped into Teflon® hardcoat anodized aluminum ends and attached to universal mast and boom fittings. Fittings, fasteners, drill and tap are included. Additional sizes available.
- Best Use: Eliminates topping lift. Opens leech by lifting boom for better light-air sail shape. Reefing is safer with better boom control

- Length: Subtract 7" from current vang length to correctly size

I am surprised that more sailboats don't have one of these installed! The product elminates the topping lift, which is a pain to set up and take off every time you go out. The materials are obviously high quality and look good on my boat. After shortening the rod length slightly with a hacksaw and drilling three holes, the Boomkicker was installed in about 45 minutes (even taking care to measure everything twice and trial fitting a few different ways). Instructions were clear and written for do-it-yourself installation. Nice upward pressure allowing for sail shape adjustments with only my boom vang.
