Key item for safely rescuing an overboard person
Throw lines provide an accurate way to deliver a line to a person in the water or to pass a messenger line to another boat. The 70' Throw Rope is safety yellow with foam inserts inside the bag for added buoyancy and SOLAS reflective tape which makes it easy to see.
- Both Throw Ropes are constructed of a length of specially braided polypropylene 3/8" line that floats indefinitely.
- Both meet ORC specification 4.24 for ocean racing
- 2,200 lb. breaking strength
| Practical-Sailor Magazine quote… "…we found West Marines Deluxe Throw Rope to have the most consistent performance. Yes, its the second-most expensive, but we think its worth it." |

Comments about Throw Ropes:
Purchased one of these a few years ago and it fell apart from the sunlight and I am a seasonal Northeast boater. This is a poorly made product for the money($$$$$). Planned obsolesence at it's best. Tried Returning to the store and he laughed at me and tried to sell me another at full price. I wouldn't buy a pump from them if I was sinking!
Comments about West Marine Throw Ropes:
No one should leave the dock without one of these. You should practice using it before you need it, though. Throw it downwind and be careful about hitting things on the boat when you throw it. Side arm works well or overhand if you are clear of booms, etc.
