The control and flexibility provided by a lever drag reel is great, unless your line loops over and breaks on an oversized drag control. Squall reels feature a close-fitting, ratcheted drag control that doesn’t protrude above their compact graphite frame. The result is that there is no way for the line to loop over and hang up on the lever of the Squall Lever Drag. The compact, thumb-operated lever is ratcheted to prevent ‘drag creep’ during long trolling sessions and provides precision control of the reel’s drag. Multiple Dura-Drag™ washers virtually eliminate hesitation, even under extreme drag settings. Innovative Versa-Handle system allows you to adjust the length of the reel’s handle for power or speed in less than a minute. Forged and machined aluminum spool features line capacity rings to monitor how much line you have when fighting a fish and for benchmarking when backing superlines with monofilament.

Comments about Squall Conventional Reels:
Can't ask for a better reel. Bought at West Marine on Wednesday and on Friday caught Wahoo and Tuna on first day of use. Very pleased with performance. Drag was very smooth and winding just the same. Cannot find any issues with this new reel!
