Comments about Portable Gunwale Mount Boarding Ladders:
I needed a way to on and off a Grady-White 20' Center Console while it was on our boat lift. It is perfect for that task. It is light, the bottom standoffs are the correct distance near the waterline, it is made from a sturdy plastic, and it secures itself over the side of the boat.

Comments about Portable Gunwale Mount Boarding Ladders:
The standoffs were too short making the ladder useless on our boat.
I purchase a piece of 1" aluminum tubing from the hardware store and replaced the original 4 3/4 inch standoffs with 10" tubes that work perfectly on our boat.
Instructions:
Dis-aseemble the origianl standoffs, examining how they are built and function.
Drill the two holes on each end of the new tubing. I used the holes in the ladder for my guide. Use a 5/16 drill bit.
Cut each end of the tubing to your length.
Reinstall the button clips in the newly cut tubing.
Reinstall the protective end caps on the end of the new tubing that presses against the hull when in use.
Reinstall the big rubber end caps.
Push the buttons in and slide the new tubing into the brackets on the ladder, just like they were originally set.
Your all set.
Basically you are just duplicating the construction of the original standoff tubes with ones you'll cut to your own length.
It's very simple and takes less than an hour or so....and, i'm someone who has to call in help just to change the paper towel roll in the kitchen!

Comments about Portable Gunwale Mount Boarding Ladders:
light weight, sturdy, it works fine. I have the three step version- four steps might be better since it seems like it would be better with a fourth step; however, my three step works great on my Whaler. I have two ladders and I use this as a sort of emergency ladder but it works so well I don't even use my four step stainless ladder on the stern.

Comments about Portable Gunwale Mount Boarding Ladders:
Wish I had read reviews on this ladder before purchase. I asked the dealer about using this ladder on my specific boat and he said it would work, it doesn't do well as the stand offs are about 4 inches to short. Have been trying to find some aluminum tube that matches so that I can make longer stand offs but have not had any luck. I am going to call customer service and see if they can help. At this point in time I would not recommend this ladder. My boat is a Hewescraft Pro V 200 Hardtop and when beached my wife needs the ladder to get in the boat easily. For now it's back to the step ladder.

Comments about Portable Gunwale Mount Boarding Ladders:
Had difficulty getting back in my Boston Whaler after swimming. I don't understand why you don't offer several options since the stand-offs were designed to slip off easily.

Comments about Portable Gunwale Mount Boarding Ladders:
In open water we use this boat ladder it is not easy to use becuase the stand offs are too short. If we could switch these out for longer stand offs then it would keep the ladder verticle it would be much easier to use. We will have to figure out how to make our own longer stand offs.
