Comments about Light Duty Clamp On Rod Holder:
This rod holder belongs in the trash. The stainless steel tube is fine, but the pot-metal zinc bracket is terrible. Mine broke after a couple uses. Even if it doesn't break, it will corrode in a very short time if used in salt water. Do yourself a favor and don not buy this product.

Comments about Light Duty Clamp On Rod Holder:
I built a bicycle rack out of 3/8" Stainless tubing, bent and tig welded together, to hold my Plano 6102 tackle box. I used 2 of these rod holders, clamped to 3/4" tubing welded to the angle braces, to hold my rods during transport. So far they work great for transporting.

Comments about Light Duty Clamp On Rod Holder:
West Marine is awesome, this product is a stinker. Purchased two of these on a Friday, installed on my 19' Arima, and went fishing on Saturday in the Pacific. One rod holder broke while on the water, and the other one broke off somewhere while towing the boat home. West Marine customer service is awesome and they did the right thing by standing behind the product. Will definetely continue to be a West Marine fan, but wanted to let others know about my experience with these rod holders.

Comments about Light Duty Clamp On Rod Holder:
I installed the rod holders before a fluke fishing trip. Ran about 5 miles out in 2ft seas and heard a pop. I looked to see where the noise came from and i notice one rod holder had broken at the seem. To make matters worse I lost a $600 penn set up. I have no trust in this product.

Comments about Light Duty Clamp On Rod Holder:
The product looks great on my sailboat. It matches the stainless components so one can hardly notice they are there.
I have one gripe though, the angle is not easily adjusted once installed. The clamp screws must be removed to get to the bolt that controls the angle. It does not make it easy for quick adjustments.
