SPX-5R is an easy-to-use, easy-to-fit pilot for powerboats with a fixed or tilt, single station helm and comes with the latest p70R autopilot controller. It is also comes equipped with the latest SeaTalkng networking and a standard rate-gyro processor ensuring razor sharp course keeping under any conditions.
SPX-5R is ideal for sports cruisers and rigid inflatable boats so whether it’s high-speed pursuits or the most leisurely cruise, let the SPX-5R take you there. It is also ideal for smaller sport fishing boats, now you can prepare the bait while the pilot steers the boat.
SPX-5R is designed for manual cable steered boats with laden displacements of up to 4400 lbs (2000 kg) and manual hydraulic and servo hydraulic steering up to 7700 Lbs (3500 kg.)
The bundled system comes complete with the p70R Control Head. For legacy systems, the SPX-5R corepack without control head may be purchased separately.

THE DOCUMENTATION SENT WITH THE UNIT LOOKS GREAT FROM THE SURFACE. iT IS HOWEVER MISSLEADING TO SAY THE LEAST, AND IN MY OPINION, DOWNRIGHT WRONG.
I READ AND FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER, INCLUDING THE DIAGRAMS PROVIDED. WHEN NOTHING WORKED I THEN WROTE TO RAYMARINE CUSTOMER SERVICE VIA E-MAIL. AFTER NO RESPONCE IN A WEEKS TIME I PACKAGED UP THE COURSE COMPUTER AND RETURNED IT TO THEM. tHEN THEY SENT BACK THE UNIT WITH A CORRECTED INSTALATION DIAGRAM. YES IT DOES WORK NOW. AFTER A LONG WAIT AND COUNTLESS TRYS I DO HAVE A UNIT THAT WORKS. THE DOCUMENTS THAT CAME WITH THE UNIT SAID THAT THE COURSE COMPUTER WOULD PROVIDE POWER TO THE OTHER COMPONENTS. I HAD TO PROVIDE SEPARATE POWER TO THE CONTROLLER AND THAT SIDE OF THE COURSE COMPUTER. THE WARRANTY SERVICE WAS AT LEAST QUICK TO SEND IT BACK TO ME WITH THE CORRECT LAYOUT DIAGRAM. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER TO PROVIDE THE RIGHT INFORMATION WITH THE UNIT.
