Comments about 12V Flush Mount Receptacles & Plugs:
I installed two of these plugs. I constantly have to check to see if the male plug is making contact in the receptacle. I have to jiggle it around and hope it will stay in place. So I would say it is not reliable as an over night charge may be no charge at all.

Used receptacle and plug for trolling motor connection. This allows me to remove the tolling motor easily. The plug and receptacle does accept 8 AWG wire.

Comments about 12V Flush Mount Receptacles & Plugs:
While the construction is durable, the deal killer for me is that the female sockets don't have 360 degree/top-to-bottom contact for the ground of the male plug. For most male 12v plugs you have to fiddle with the plug and hope it doesn't vibrate into a different position to make positive contact. If you compare this to other sockets (like in your car), you'll see the ground contacts encompasses the entire socket cylinder top to bottom.
I found this out after installation unfortunately, and right before a trip, so I took a soda can, sanded the paint off, and made aluminum tubes to stuff into the socket to help give the male plug consistent contact. Still isn't as reliable as I'd like.
Why they would be designed this way I can't explain...

Comments about 12V Flush Mount Receptacles & Plugs:
Well made, and packaged with all components, including a fuse. The recommended 14 ga wire had to be trimmed slightly to fit, but that's a very minor complaint.
