The DE-0061 features a flush-mount self-venting design, improved cooling efficiency resulting in a low amp draw, an exceptionally quiet, hermetically sealed compressor, top-mounted controls and the addition of an interior light. The dual voltage design runs on 120V AC shore power at the dock and automatically switches to 12V or 24V DC when the boat is underway. Replaces the DE-461, DE-561 and DE-560. Complete installations require a set of exterior door panels, sold separately (Model 5388582). Black acrylic trim.

It is very Loud in the Salon and it is running most of the time.
Good Yacht builders never use Nevercold.
Drains my battery bank. I have a 1000Ah 8 deep cycle 6 volt golf cart battery bank. New batteries @ 13.25Volts to start with down 50% by morning.

I bought this DE0061R to replace my old Norcold which lasted 20 years. This newer model is just plain noisy. It clicks and groans and wheezes all the time. If I did not have to heave it out of my boat again I would replace it in a heart beat. I do not believe this unit will last 10 years let alone 20.

had unit for 3 years. replaced both door latches($100), fridge door(300). has to be set at highest temp setting to maintain temp. will never buy another norcold product!!!

I selected this unit to replace the older 0041 model. The very first thing I noticed was how noisy it was. It was so bad I thought it was broken. Norcold advertises that the compressor (the part of the cooling unit on the outside) is quiet, and it is. The part they don`t advertise is how noisy the condenser is (the part of the cooling unit on the inside). Well on my 45' boat with the frig in a separate cabin it can keep me up at night it's so loud.
It also stopped running on DC power on anything less than 12vdc even though it should run down to 10.7 vdc. I had to have this repaired by an authorized Norcold repair station. Apparently Norcold does not yet have a repair manual for this unit and three visits latter after changing several parts it now seems to be cooling on DC but still as noisy as ever.

Purchased to replace a 20 yr old Norcold with sling compressors. The old unit was very noisy. This new one with Danfros compressor is very quite. The fan makes more noise than the compressor.
Installation required a few tweaks. But hey, it goes on a boat. Nothing is standard!
The Admiral likes it (wife). Biggest issue, she would like more refrig space & less freezer. And yes, the plastic drawher is very flimsy .
Works great off 12Vdc, reasonable power draw.

This was a replacement for a failed 10 year old Norcold and required significant dismantling of my Mainship to bring to salon. If you want left side hinges, be prepared for a lengthy job to modify.
Unit is quite noisy and exterior fit and finish on front are a digrace. I wouldn't buy again.
