The zinc version was OE on my J/105 starboard aft hatch. Replaced it two years ago with the same because the bronze version, nominally the same size, was off just enough that it wouldn't fit as a drop in replacement. Now, the zinc version has welded itself together- the handle cannot be lifted. This item is not suitable for marine use.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
