Description

Reversing is a big step forward. With these patented winches from Seldén, you can let the line out by reversing the rotation of the winch drum.To ease the line, just push the button on the special winch handle down with your thumb. The line remains in the self-tailing jaws, so it’s a one-hand operation to trim the sheet, the halyard or the spinnaker guy. Instant trim delivers convenience and more boat speed. For the family cruising sailor, one-handed operation means safety—no fingers are even close to the drum when easing out the line. In rough conditions you can hold on with your free hand. Singlehanded sailors can steer and trim at the same time. When not in reverse mode, the Seldén Reversible Winch operates like any other two-speed manual winch.

These winches have a unique and patented reverse function operated with a push of your thumb. They come with a stainless steel drum with ten flat faces which gives excellent grip and is kind to the line. They are low weight—the center tower is partly composite and are compatible with all winch handles (only the 10" Seldén lock-in winch handle, SKU 14146047, offers two-speed forward and one-speed reverse). And these winches have a smooth, sculpted reverse feeder, so the sheet can be dumped fast when tacking.
