After reading the reviews of the DE0751, I decided to purchase the new replacement (NR751) for the DE0751 for about the same price. Looks like a better designed unit. We will see. Couldn't be any worst.

Excited about getting a replacement for my inoperable DE-051, which lasted about 8 years. Excitment faded when I turned it on and heard the noise and door rattle. Sounded like a knocking loose motor that vibrated the entire unit causing the door handle pistion shaft to vibrate against it's chamber and the door handle to rattle. The kicker is that I bruised both my hands ( one skin scrapped the other busted blood under skin ) lugging this down into my boat and now I've got to lug it back out and return it. Not a happy boater!Too noisy to sleep while it's running. Also, concerned that it will not last 10 years with this condition. A lot of money for a refrigerator that should be selling for $249.95 and not [$]I'm not sure I could recommend this unit for this price to anyone. But, I do not see any choices for purchasing a different brand. So, I'll try another one if the dealer will accomodate the exchange.

After serching for a new fridge for my Chriscraft I just got this Norcold 2.7 refrigerator to get remplaced an A/C refrigerator that works great until the boat gets away from the slip. Installation when well, power molex connector is not included so I had to rewire the connection. Turned on on DC Power and work fine. Some noise from the shelvs in side but I filled up and the noise went away. Very low noise and the digital amp meter read was 1 to 2 amps on DC. On AC works as good as DC. I don't have to do anything to change from AC/DC it does automatic. So far so good three weeks on the road only. No very roomy but tempeture is good.

Put this in a 31 foot boat. The noise from the norcold de 0751 was terrible. Would wake me up in the night when it came on. Took it back out now looking to Norclod for a solution. 9/11/11

This fridge is the main one in the galley aboard our boat, and replaces a 21 yr old Nor cold Tec II, the shelves are stonger than the old one, but has lost some of the available space the old one had. It is nice to look at with the controls on the outside which makes it much easier to operate. Will take a few days to figure out a new way of storing the essentials. It was easy to install. Runs very quietly. Would definately recommend it.

Came with a custom connector but the mating version was not included, so this had to be scrapped and re-wired. Unit works well and is a perfect fit for my 10 year old Norcold that rusted out in the boat.
