My 2006 37' sailboat came with this installed. The leech of my jib quickly knocked the steaming light off the top. Forespar were great in sending me a replacement steaming light free-of-charge. Unfortunately it followed the previous light down to the deck the following season. I've been advised to install a shield next time but don't really like the idea of drilling more holes in my carbon mast. Suspect the guard might not be that durable anyway?
