The Harken tiller extension is an essential part of every boat's kit. It allows sailors to helm from an optimum position in the boat, greatly improving boat handling and speed. In light air, this extension lets sailors move their weight forward to reduce wetted surface and minimize drag. In heavy air it allows sailors to hike farther out on the rail and flatten the boat while steering.

The non-slip foam rubber grip does not absorb water, providing an excellent grip without compromising "feel" and helm feedback for trim, weight placement, and heel-angle adjustments.  A flexible rubber universal joint allows sailors to hold the extension from any direction for precise steering control.
