Comments about Macerator Pump:
I am confused!! I bought my boat 6 years ago and have used my macerator quite a bit. It was used quite a bit before me. I had never had any problems with it until last fall when the impeller started slipping. That's about 10 years of use with this ShurFlo macerator. I like mine so much, I am buying another and rebuilding the one I have. Why is it that I don't have the problems these others have?

Comments about Shurflo Macerator Pump:
One worked Ok except when small pieces of mono got around the blade. The new one's motor died after one trip! The pump is worth about $14.99, definetely not $149!!!!!!!!
Comments about Shurflo Macerator Pump:
Not a heavy-duty pump, as advertised. Basically, light-duty unit that fails after about 12 months. And at $150 a pop, it's expensive.
Comments about Shurflo Macerator Pump:
I have a bass boat with a bilge pump located under the gas tank and deck. Since the pump is always getting jammed and they never last long, I got tired of pulling the tank to change or clean the pump. I replaced the last one with this unit two years ago and have had no trouble. Since the pump is located above the tank, I can get to it easily if I need to. It handles leaves and mud without clogging like a regular bilge pump would. The earlier comment about durability does not seem to be a problem in fresh water. My only complaint is that this unit makes more noise than I'd like.
Comments about Shurflo Macerator Pump:
Wish Rule would build a macerator. I have replaced these Jabsco shurflo 20 times. tired of it allJapanese should enter the market and put these wiseguys out of this business.
