Comments about PAR Max Washdown Kits:
I was totally satisfied with the unit until it failed. I only bought it 5 months ago but it has had a lot of use. In my opinion there is a design flaw in the unit otherwise it would get a top rating from me. Here I am a long ways away from Fl. where I bought it (now in the South Pacific) and the unit has failed. I took it apart and found that where the pump ossilating bearing assembly failed. The bearing is pressed into an aluminum part and it should have been fixed in more solidly because the oscillation that causes pumping also puts a lot of stress between the bearing and the cast aluminum piece that it is pressed into. As it comes loose the aluminum begins to wear a little at a time producing aluminum oxide which is an abrasive which then accellerates the wear even more. There needs to be a correction to the design before I would recommend this unit to anyone. Otherwise performance, noise, power consumption, standby bypassing and all of the rest of its features are really good. Still needs to fix this design flaw because it is not just my unit. In my opinion all of the units will likely fail the same way as mine has.

I've used this brand of pump in the past and always had good luck with them. Should have bought the whole kit, to save running to store.

Comments about PAR Max Washdown Kits:
The mount system works ok but it could be better. The 4GPM is plenty of pressure and works good for the quick rinse down. Take the time to flush it out with freshwater at the end of the day.

Comments about PAR Max Washdown Kits:
The first one I bought didn't work at all. Second one was missing the O-rings on the fittings so it leaked like crazy. Called Jabsco support (took 2 calls) they said they'd express me the rings next day. Didn't come left message for support. Gave up returned the second pump to West.
West was very good about taking the returns.
Pros

- Easy To Use
Cons
Best Uses
- Wash down on small boat
Comments about PAR Max Washdown Kits:
The biggest challenge for installation was planning and installing the thru-hull fitting and running wiring from the pump to the switch. For the thru hull you really want an inline valve in case you ever have a problem with the pump. That said, the pump part of the project was simple.
Pros
Cons
- Under size for nozzle
Best Uses
Comments about PAR Max Washdown Kits:
The pump is under sized for the spray nozzle. Pump can't hold ANY pressure after 2 seconds. The kit could use an adjustable nozzle so that the flow can be regulated down to maintain some pressure. The kit did not come with proper fittings to connect the nozzle to the hose.
