Comments about Macerator Pump:
Another over priced product designed to provide marginal performance for very limited time. THe 4 studs that hold it together invariably corrode. The impeller has a 6 month life expectancy. If you use it you "wear it out" if you dont then it loses its flexability. Nothing is more satisfying then the clean up job required when the studs corrode and the boat is sprayed with holding tank content. THey know about this problem. But refuse to upgrade or modify the design. Maybe they should do my next clean up job to find the motivation they need.

Comments about Macerator Pump:
I think I installed this about 18 months ago. I used it once last year when I cleaned out the fish box (Rig storage, fish go in cooler). I did my spring cleaning yesterday and it whirred quietly but did not pump. All lines are clear and shore water shoots through. I climbed in the guts of the boat and looked at the pump. This thing was a mass of rust! You would think for the purpose, it wouldn't rust so fast. Sheesh, and I only used it one time.... This thing is a piece of trash, don't waste your money. WM needs to do better with its selection of products.

Comments about Macerator Pump:
My 2 year old Hunter 45 came equipped with 2 of these pumps. One failed after 1 year and the other after 2. The long bolts holding the housing together corroded thru making the pumps fail and dumping a horrible mess into my bilge. I replaced the first failure with a different brand pump. I replace the second with another Jabco (what was I thinking?). After spending 4 hours installing the new one I noticed one of the 4 housing bolts was loose. It too had corroded thru even though it had never even been wet. Great product Jabsco!

Comments about Macerator Pump:
We installed this pump on our grey water tank in 1998. 14 years, 25,000 miles, and who knows how many gallons later, it started to have a hard time starting. I believe the front seal was failing. GREAT PIECE OF EQUIPMENT
