Comments about Diverter Valve:
Original equipment on my Beneteau. The handle broke off after 12 years. Although that seems like a long time, the handle is plastic and the connection to the valve could be a lot sturdier. I am buying a new one only because I just want to remove and replace the old unit.
By the way, to minimize salt buildup, I have read recommendations for flushing the holding system periodically with white vinegar.
Pros
- Easy to disassemble
- Easy To Install
- Flexible architecture
Cons
- Flimsy
- Seals are easily damaged
Best Uses
Comments about Diverter Valve:
The valve seal is easily torn by accumulated salt build-up (think "#1"). The handle axel is wimpy and easy to break during normal use, especially when there is internal salt build-up.
I don't enjoy overhauling waste systems, and so would appreciate if more design emphasis was placed on creating a robust, self-cleaning action.

- Easy To Use
- Has hioles for locking
Cons
- BIG
- Flimsy
- More expensive

Comments about Diverter Valve:
I like the holes to lock it so that it can't be changed, required by some agencies. In time it became difficult to operate and I broke the handle.
Pros

- Easy To Use
Cons
- Finding replacement parts
Best Uses

Comments about Diverter Valve:
Installed two of these last year in head system. I love them! Easy to install, take apart when needed, and haven't once clogged. Angled ports are a definite plus. Only con would be finding replacement parts.
I tryed to turn it from holding tank to over the side and the part of the ball valve that goes into the handle broke. It should be made out of stainless steel.
