Description

Top-quality antenna for maximum range and dependability

Shakespeare's best 8', 6dB Gain antenna. Its Collinear-phased 5/8 wave design maximizes range and quality in a great looking antenna. The 5225-XT is Shakespeare's classic Style 5225 in a new, stronger, sturdier, stiffer radome for extra duty. It's extra tough for use on hard tops, T-tops, radar arches, or wherever its extra resistance to high winds and high speeds is welcome.

  • Application: Top quality VHF antenna
  • Gain: 6 dB
  • Length: 8'
  • Material: Urethane-coated Fiberglass
  • Elements: Complex brass and copper
  • Base Type: 1" 14 thread, SS ferrule
  • Lead: 20' RG-8/X low-loss cable plus a PL-259 connector (supplied, but not installed)
  • Warranty: Five years

Comments about Galaxy 5225 XT/5226 XT 8' Antenna:

I have had to use the radio to call for help. The signal was excellent in pitching seas. Cheaper antennae can lose signal when the boat is pitching badly. This unit has a broader signal and thankfully our calls were answered. Our boat was disabled and we were heading out under the Golden Gate Bridge to go crabbing. Anyone who knows the bay area knows how rough it can be out there. When your motor dies your only life saver is your radio. This is not part of your boat you want to scrimp on. This model has the newer low loss signal cable which is larger than the older versions.
