Comments about Magma ChefsMate Gas Grill:
My wife gave me this BBQ grill for my boat, I was a worried that mixing a grill and a boat was dangerous. I have a 38 convertible and with the base attached to place the grill on the rod holder, makes it perfect and secure. The fit and finish is great, and the cooking is good. I can clean the grill in the cockpit easy and fast. I can storage the grill in the boat because so the compact size and detach the gas canister and storage it in a secure place (cold and dry inside the boat) to prevent any posible fire hazard. We now BBQ every weekend in the boat with the kids and friends in the beach, so to have the best of all worlds, boating, beach, family/friends, and BBQ.

Comments about Magma ChefsMate Gas Grill:
Bought the grill from WM and installed it on our new boat. We used the pedestal mount and put it on the end of the swim platform out of the way. Can cook just about everything on the low setting. Burgers and steaks will give a little flare up just like any other grill. Overall we are very happy with the product.

Comments about Magma ChefsMate Gas Grill:
As with all Magma products, this Chefsmate is of great quality and looks. Lighting it can require a bit of contortion sometimes, but once you get the hang of it, it is easy enough. My only con would be what some people think is a positive I am sure. The grilling surface is made up of three sections. They are loosely fit with the cover open, so using a brush to burn off and scrape the surface doesn't really work that well. It is probably because you can get the grill hot enough to burn things off unless you leave the cover shut, or the fact that if you were to want to wash these grills in the galley sink, you would not be able to fit the grill if it was one piece. So, being able to take the three pieces and wash it in the sink becomes a possible pro, but I think scraping would have been a better option. Still, I sold my old boat with the grill, and went out and bought the same one for the new boat, so that says a lot right there. Great grill for the economical price that you can find it for.

Comments about Magma ChefsMate Gas Grill:
Works great...unless it is windy. Instructions say not to grill on med or higher with the cover closed, except that if windy the flame can blow out unless it is on high. Overall I recommend, but has some limitations.

Comments about Magma ChefsMate Gas Grill:
I used one of these on a friend's boat, so I had to have one. We have a 40' boat which we use to fish & cruise Prince William Sound out of Valdez, Alaska. We love to anchor up in a nice cove, surrounded by mountains & glaciers, then grill up some meat & veggies on our grille. Have a nice dinner & some good wine!

Comments about Magma ChefsMate Gas Grill:
The fishon/Scotty mount is expensive and poorly designed and hard to attache and had poor instruction's. The length of the mount is about 1/4" to long to you cannot use the folding legs when and if you want to use the BBQ on a flat surface. I am considering having a pro welder cut the mount and weld it back on 1/4" shorter as this makes the BBQ much more useful (allowing the use of the folding legs for use in flat surfaces).

Comments about Magma ChefsMate Gas Grill:
As with any SS product, need to wipe clean after each use, and stays great looking.
I would buy this grill again.
I recommended this product to my daughter, who then purchased it as a gift for her brother-in-law for his boat.
