I've used this with my Magma Kettle Gas Grill for about 6 months now. It seems straight forward and easy to use...but after an unfortunate incident involving a heavy, super hot grill, flaming chicken thighs and a large boat wake, I learned to be more cautious. A repeat performance has been avoided by clamping this thing down like your life depends on it (very hard on the hands!) but my confidence in the product has never recovered. I'm buying the flush mount kit to give that a try!
My advice: If the unit seems tight and set in the rod, bring in Superman and get him to keep tightening. Then, giggle the grill and bring in the Hulk. Pry that you haven't exceeded the structural capabilities of your rod holders, and then get to grilling.
