Description

Enjoy mouth-watering meals aboard with the versatile Cabo grill. Ideal for budget-minded boaters unwilling to sacrifice quality for cost, the Cabo is designed to give seagoing chefs the advantages of backyard grilling on their boat.

Extremely versatile to suit your needs

With a large, domed lid with a stay-cool plastic handle lets you grill, roast or even bake foods. And with 162 sq.in. of cooking area, the Cabo is large enough to cook up enough to feed the whole crew. One of the great things about the Cabo is that it’s not just for use on your boat. Its fold-away tabletop legs are great for use on your deck or patio as well. And it’s safe to use, too. A swiveling control valve/regulator allows quick, safe fuel canister exchanges. The Cabo’s easily regulated 11,200 But heat output gives you complete heat control so your meals come out just right. The Cabo uses standard 1lb. propane canisters or adapts to on-board LPG or CNG systems.

Designed and built for years of onboard service

No one wants to cook a meal on a nasty rusted, corroded old grill. And with the Cabo’s double-lined, 18-9 mirror-polished stainless steel construction, you won’t have to! This 9" x 18" LP gas grill will withstand season after season of on-deck use.

Additional accessories expand the Cabo’s functions

Optional serving shelf with cutting board easily attaches for bonus serving space and instantly detaches for easy cleanup. West Marine also sells multiple mounting options, as well as a variety of grill covers to keep your Magma grill protected over the long haul.

Comments about Magma Cabo Gas Grill:

We use the Magma Cabo grill both on the boat and for tailgating. Works perfectly for both applications. Lights quickly/easily with a long snout lighter and the adjustable dial allows a pretty broad range on temeratures. On low heat the surface temp was 425 deg F / high 590 deg F according to my kingsford direct heat gauge.
I was able to cook hamburgers, hotdogs and brats for a party of 10 during a recent tailgate. Was even able to use a medium pan atop the stainless grate to saute peppers, onions, garlic and white wine into an awesome brat topper.
For cooking fish the spacing and tendency of fillets to flake might make cooking directly atop the grate tricky so using a grill basket is recommended.
Used a common 1 lb propane bottle and ran it for three hours on high and it used about 70% of the bottle.
We also plan on using this grill on our Bahamas trip this year. We'll be island hopping and grilling fresh seafood every evening on this little gem.

      What would really be nice...

      By Anchorsaweigh

      from New England

Comments about Magma Cabo Gas Grill:

...is if WM would list the correct mounts (or any accessory for that matter) for the specified item in the description. Such as: "Requires item #XXXXX for mounting." Items listed in "Related Items" don't always work with the item you're purchasing. This would save a phone call to WM, and sitting on hold so that a CS rep can say, "I'm not sure." Just an observation.

Comments about Magma Cabo Gas Grill:

We have had this for over a year and I think I am well versed in the Cabo, especially since we use it almost every time we go out skiing, to the sand bar parties, fishing, etc. 60+ times. I got the rod holder option so I could use it on friends boats as well. It lights up every time easy through the lighting hole. I don't think I would want and auto lighter option since I can take apart every piece and clean it in soapy water, thus bad for the electronics. I do add marine grease to my bottle threads as well to avoid rust on the bottles (that I have left in a moist console for months) screwing up my threads. I would never leave this on my rail even with a cover on it. It had rust spots (that scrubbed off) after one saltwater trip and only sat in my garage for one night. I have kept it in my huge cooler since. It does not rust if I only pull it out and use it when not driving so water does not get sprayed on it. Every time we have skied, driven in from fishing, etc with it in the rod holder it gets rust. Put it in front of a fan to help dry everything well after washing. I have cleaned it a half dozen times, three times for rust, and the rest to clean off grease, etc, to avoid pitting in the grate after a few years, as seen with all regular small square BBQ grates, like a Weber. It looks brand new to this day plus a little heat treatment look on the element grease cover which is understandable; the grease etc comes right off the grate. The SS element is awesome. I can't imagine what it would look like if I let the rust grow/ left it on the rail. The 10+ yr old units that I still see on rails today from neighbors cost 3 times more, but I can see why.The cabo still works no problems, great in wind. I think they just used poor SS that rusts easy. I will say that the rust did not pit or screw up the metal, but did take scrubbing to get it off. I would get a better model if I lived on a sailboat or wanted it to stay out. I would buy this model again for my uses now. Putting in in the cooler is easy, and does make less racket from the grates rattling when driving, if it is stored away. I would never put it in my moist console/storage areas though. So you will need to keep it dry and store it in a moisture resistant storage area, dry bag, or take it off the boat. I live in a warm marine area though.

Comments about Magma Cabo Gas Grill:

The major flaw is the bracket on the bottom of the grill, which holds the drip pan and to which the rail mount is attached. The bracket is fastener with six tiny spot welds, which let go the first time someone banged into the grill while it was mounted on the stern rail. I re-attached the bracket with machine screws.
