I have repaired 3 snaps on my bimini multiple times this summer with no success. The snaps pull apart after the 1st or second unsnapping. I pound on the tool until the snap seems to be solidly compresed together but they still pull apart.

Like the first commenter, I didn't know how to use the kit, and wanted even the simplest instructions. I was able to find some similar things on YouTube and got a better idea of how to use it, so I was fairly quickly able to put a couple of snaps together. They seem to work well. Even with some working snaps, I'm not 100% sure I used the kit properly.

As with any tool, some monkeys will have difficulty getting the hang of it. This one requires holding a punch tool on a fixture placed on an anvil with one hand and hitting it with a mallet held in the other hand. Some eye hand coordination is required and this requires a brain.

I have no idea how this product performs since West is too cheap to include directions in the package or on the web site. I bet it would perform better if I knew how to use it properly.
