I needed a replacement snap for a strap that gets used while towing. Basically - I can't tow without it. I can't mention the price per the commenting policy. The tool is junk and basically worthless. The capper however is the fact that the shanks won't bend on the snaps so the snaps wind up being flimsy ie: pulling apart on their first disengagement. There are no instructions whatsoever inside the packaging. Worst purchase of the year for me.

Need constant replacement. Do not last very long at all. Good for a temporary solution. Easily damaged but easy to press together. Tool that's included can be over-squeezed easily too. Be careful not to over-squeeze. Nice storage case included too.

This is a terrible product and I did not expect West Marine to sell such lousy quality. I have the "special tool" that the mfg sells and it still is not functional. The pricing is extremely high as well. Do not waste your money. These use to be forst class.... either they chnaged suppliers or the supplier has neglected quality control.

It is not often that I am so taken aback by the lack of quality in a product that I feel the need to write a review. These are without a doubt the worst snaps I have ever used. The brass and nickel plating is so thin that my professional high quality press (not the junk punch WM sells) leaves a dimple in the snaps. Secondly, the material is of such poor quality that my press breaks the ring formed in 3 places. As a background I have used many different brands of snaps and my press is a professional tool. Never have I encountered these problems. There is only one company that knows how to manufacture quality canvas snaps, which you should only use (stainless preferably for marine applications), but I won't state their name here because WM will remove my add per their guidelines. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!
