Comments about Stern Rail Outboard Motor Mount for 1" Railing:
We needed to install an outboard motor mount on our stern pulpit, but didn't have a location where the railing formed a "T" as most mounts require. We were a bit put off by the price of this mount, but it seemed to be our only option, so we sucked it up and ordered it. While we still think it's a bit costly, it is a terrific unit. It's rugged and heavy duty, and was pretty easy to install. We're delighted with the purchase.
Pros
- Easy to mount
- Sturdy construction
- Weather Resistant
Cons
- Motor is above the rail

Comments about Stern Rail Outboard Motor Mount for 1" Railing:
This was a replacement for a simple single pad outboard motor mount that had weathered and began to crack. This was very simple to install and provides much more stable mounting for my 6 hp outboard than the single pad. The motor center of gravity is above the rail but since the motor mount attaches to the top and bottom stern rail it provides a lot more stability.
