Comments about CU 86 CoolMatic Series 80 Compresser/Condenser:
To compensate for my 1974 sailboat's lack of insulation, I purchased the Waco Coolmatic 86 Compressor/Condenser and the standard Waco VD-05 Evaporating Plate together they can cool much more volume than my 2.25 cubic feet Cold Box. It works great the beer is cold, milk does not sour and meat is safe to eat. My installation draws about 5.0 amps but only runs half the time. Light weight vertical design with built in fan to circulate air is a smart engineering. One day DYI installation, I used 12 gage duplex wire vs. 10 gage to compensate for the heat and humidity on the Chesapeake Bay. I also purchased the Waeco Mobitronic AC/DC converter. Just came back from a three day weekend on the hook and never thought about ice.
