Comments about Fuel Kit Gauge with Sender:
My sailboat's fuel tank came with a mechanical sending unit. The problem is, it was impossible to see where the tank is mounted. I bought this kit to replace the mechanical unit and allow me to see the fuel gauge in a convenient remote location.
I did the project with my tank removed, which made it easier. The screw holes lined up perfectly with my old ones (this is a 34 year old tank, so I was thrilled!).
The mounting screws come with a sealant layer pre-installed. When they are properly torqued, the sealant beads out visibly. This makes it very easy to see when they are tight enough, and saved me having to research what kind of goop to use. Again, very easy.
The white display gauge is very attractive, and seems well built. This kit contains no wires, which makes sense. Unfortunately, it contains no wiring diagram, which does not make sense. These are easy enough to find on-line, but it is something the vendor should have included.
All in all, this is a great product which seems like it would work in almost any configuration. Install is easier than most boat projects, but it does require some thought.
