High strength and dependable performance characterize these furling systems.
A drum bearing box with a steel thrust bearing between two large,
self-lubricating polymer fiber bearings means that this furler has a smooth
rotation under high axial (halyard) and lateral (sheet and furling line) loads.
The rotating tack fitting (LX system only) with Torlon® ball bearings helps to
maintain sail shape when the sail is partially furled. The head swivel, with the
same bearing system as the drum, rotates smoothly, even under high loads. A
halyard deflector wheel prevents troublesome halyard wraps. LS systems feature a
non-removable drum, aluminum sail feeder and a fixed tack fitting. LX systems
feature a removable drum, stainless-steel sail feeder, and rotating tack
fitting.
