Comments about Fully Insulated Nylon Disconnects:
I had some aging overhead fluorescent lighting that needed to be replaced, and I chose to go with Imtra Avalon 155 LED fixtures. The wiring for the new fixtures was 22 gauge, and existing service wiring was 14 gauge (two 14 gauge wires to be exact). This meant I needed two different connector sizes - one for the new fixture's 22 gauge wiring, and one for the larger service wiring. The connectors will work between wire gauges, but the outside covers need to be "persuaded" to mate. Nothing overly difficult, just a little wiggling will do it. I have no idea why Ancor Marine doesn't pre-shape the connectors such that they all easily interoperate (they do this for connectors within the same range of wire gauge), but that is a minor complaint. I now have a solution that will allow me to easily replace a fixture should I need to in the future.
