High-Speed Special Senator Reels
These heavy-duty ocean reels practically wrote the book on saltwater angling-holding more IGFA big game world records than all other makes combined! They include stainless steel and bronze gearing, double ring-reinforced side plates, one-shot lube ports and smooth-stopping HT100 drag systems. All models feature machined and anodized aluminum spools, convertible power handles and heavy duty clickers. Special Senators feature rapid gearing, sealed stainless steel bearings, multi-disc HT100 star drags and corrosion-resistant construction.

I own two of these reels. From the factory, brand new, the drags were not heavy enough to pull an umbrella rig through the water. Best use would be bottom fishing!

I have only had this for one summer but one of the best I've ever had. the first one came with a broken reel but west marine was quick to replace. overall very happy.
