Penn has introduced a reel designed to meet the needs of the avid saltwater angler. Built to take on shark, striper, yellowfin, cobia and other similar gamefish, this reel is fully sealed, so salt and sand simply can’t get in. The body is machined aluminum with 7+1 stainless steel bearings and Penn’s patented oversized HT-100 Versa-drag ensuring smoothness when it counts. An integral clutch sleeve eliminates backplay. The stainless steel bail uses a unique system to let the angler choose between manual and automatic trip at the touch of a switch. The high-capacity spools are braid-ready, so you know they’re tough enough for big fish.

Comments about Torque S7 Spinning Reels:
This reel is completely sealed in the same way as a van staal, has a drag system that is a good as or better than Shimano Stella or daiwa Saltiga; it has dual drags in the way of the top stellas. A durable gear box that a amateur could service. This reel is a winner, is it as smooth as a Stella or a Saltiga... Nope, but then again I would never dunk or sand either one of those reels. Finally an American reel that can compete easily with japan's best.
