It's a nice jacket, looks good and fits well. When the hood is packed in my new jacket it's a bit bulky at the back of my neck.

Comments about Women's Third Reef Jacket:
worked great until a fall kayaking trip to Moab. started to rain, blow and hail, my wife got soaked. looked at it in the morning light, you could see thru it and see the gaps in the waterproof membrane where it had disintigrated [grey/white particles, up to dime size all over the kayak and my wife, where the particles had fallen out of the mesh in the back of the liner]. the jacket had a few years on it, but not a lot of use. it was used in the spring, and performed fine. maybe it hit the end of its useful life, but this catastophic failure could have had severe consequences. hopefully the next one will "go slowly into its good night", rather than a crash and burn failure.

Comments about West Marine Women's Third Reef Jacket:
Great jacket for the first year. Then one sleeve and shoulder developed large dark marks and began to leak. Lining is disintegrating, shedding little white flakes everywhere. I've given the jacket good care, rinsing as soon as possible after salt water exposure. Never laundered. I had expected a West Marine product to hold up for more than one year, so this was a big disappointment.
