I got this combo about a year ago an its a great pole and reel for the price, plus mine came with some starter jigs/lures. I have been fishing on the Venice pier pulling in the same fish as the other guys on the pier but thier spending $200+ their setups, mine was $40.
I use this rod/reel every weekend at a minimum.

Product arrived to my shipping address 1 day prior to the family taking a trip to north baja.The box it came in was uncumbersome so at 430 am departure morning I unpacked it to find that the reel comes installed to the rod and the single piece leg that mechanically attaches to the rod is snapped clean off. Why in hec does the manufacture think that shipping this product pre-assembled is appropriate? Wait dont answer, i want to continue living. Product is available at [@] in San Diego for same price.
