Comments about Gel Coat Scratch Patch:

Works best on hairline cracks/tiny chips. Would not recommend on big scratches/gouges as you have to let it dry completely or risk pulling it out when smoothing/blending. Temperature has big affect if not in recommended range.

Comments about Gel Coat Scratch Patch:

Used this to repair a REALLY big chunk that had been taken off by the previous owner when he dropped and anchor on the deck of a 21ft center console. The chunk was about the size of a 1/2 dollar and down to the base material.

I had tried to use this as directed but scraping it proved impossible, it would just pull most of the material right out. Having a background in automotive body work, I decided to try to add a small amount, let it cure (about a day) and add more, let it cure, etc. and build up the repair area. Worked like a charm. Built it up, took some 400 grit, sanded it down, took some 1000 grit, leveled it out, took some 2000 grit, started to polish it, some automotive buffing compound and a polish later, it looks pretty decent.

5 stars for decent price. 1 star for making me figure out the best way to use it and not having good directions on the package.

Comments about Gel Coat Scratch Patch:

Followed cleaning instruction. Scrapped excess off after 15 min. drying time. Material kept pulling out of scratch. Tried several times with different drying times still pulled out of scratch.
