Description

Adjustable plastic in-hull puck transducer has an operating frequency of 200 kHz and 50 kHz with a beamwidth of 12 degrees at 200 kHz; 45 degrees at 50 kHz. Depth reading. A good choice for offshore fishing, this dual-frequency transducer offers better detail on the high-frequency setting and deeper readings on the low-frequency setting.

Design changed

Pros

  • Works Great

Cons

  • Design changed

Best Uses

This puck works great with my Garmin system. My ONLY complaint is the mouting tabs that locks it to the cup have been changed, slightly, so it didn't mount to the current one installed on my boat. I had hoped to remove the old puck and replace it with a new one. It wasn't that simple. I had to remove the old cup too and install the new cup.

A good Value and Easy to install

    Pros

    • Clear install instruction
    • Easy To Install
    • reasonable price

    Cons

    • none

    Best Uses

    • Non Cored Hulls
    • Replacement for existing

Note that this transducer will not operate properly in a cored hull bottom.

I needed to replace an intermittent depth sounder in my 1994 express cruiser. I didn't want to add a penetration to my hull that a through hull (large hole) or transom mount (small hole) transducer would require. Also, reading various comments, it appears that high speed performance of transom mounted parts can be iffy.

I can't say enough about how clearly the installation instructions were, right down to the amount (70mL) of fluid required to fill the transducer mount with. Arrived at my boat with all the right tools and parts and couldn't have gone smoother.

Readings are quite sharp on the Garmin GPSMAP 441s that I purchased with it.
