Comments about The Rack Stern Drive Rack and Pinion Steering System:
Installation took about 2 hours including removal of the old system. Everything was included except the wheel. I could barely turn the wheel before I started, Now it's like power steering. I can steer with one finger!!! This system is Great. I just bought another boat and I definitely will be buying Teleflex again.

Comments about The Rack Stern Drive Rack and Pinion Steering System:
I have fought the stiff steering for two years, thought that instaling this system was beyond me,I have an older 20ft Trophy fishing boat and the cable has to pass through an inner and outer fibreglass skin, make sure you attach a cord, before you pull the old one out, so you can attach the new one and pull it back through that is the key,all the parts married up perfectly and 4 hours later I was done, very pleased, thank,s.

Comments about The Rack Stern Drive Rack and Pinion Steering System:
We had a boat with a previously fitted TELEFLEX rack pinion tilt steering mechanism. The cable was damaged due to incorrect installation and the previous seller supplied an incorrect spare rack that did not fit right on the offset of the 4 mounting bolts. It was hard to read model numbers on the rack as there were no Identification marks.
So we ordered the complete system from West Marine and it was a clean swap which took less than 20 minutes for a full installation on a Glastron DS 205. The system is compatible with the older installations and we managed to use the existing tilt mechanism with the new rack. V smooth effortless steering with quick response of 4 turns lock to lock. Great for a high performance speed boat with a 4 lit engine. We tested it in some pretty rough weather and the boat handling was way better than we thought.
