1015 Captain's Varnish
Captain's varnish is recommended for the highest quality work. It has outstanding gloss retention, is extremely durable and contains a UV shield. Not for use below the waterline.
- Recommended Usage: Exterior or interior, above water
- Formulation: Traditional alkyd, 48% solids
- Additives: UV inhibitors
- Application Method(s): Brush or spray
- Drying Time: To touch: 2 hrs.; overcoat: 12 hrs.
- Number of Coats Recommended: Previously varnished: 2 coats; bare wood: 4 or more coats

I am in th process of restoring a boat, this is my first project of this size. I was amaze how great all my trim and woodwork came out. It is easy to use. I am on my way back to west marine to purchase more of this product.

Easy to use, looks great, looks better the more layers you do. Hard to re-use paint brushes though, i just bought a bunch of cheap ones and picked out the hairs as they fell out.
