Keep rain out and let air circulate through the cabin with the Vent-O-Mate. Comments about Vent O Mate:
I had this sent from Westmarine to Australia and it arrived in under 4 days! I have parts sent from Sydney to Brisbane that took longer. Price? Including twice the price for postage via fedex........ It was still priced competitive :)
Pros
- Easy to Use
- Visually Pleasing
- Weather Proof
Cons
- Plastic cover not durable
Best Uses
Comments about Vent O Mate:
A good basic vent, Have owned a few. NOTE: If the boat is to be used and stored in a hot, sunny climate, get the stainless steel cover, NOT the plastic. The plastic cover has a very short life in those conditions, it is brittle and will break.

- Easy to Use
- Protects Well
- Visually Pleasing
- Weather Proof
Cons
Best Uses

Comments about Vent O Mate:
This fit the holes and were similar to the vents that weathered to destruction. These are a great value and excellent quality. The instructions were honest and thorough, even for novice do-it-your-self-er.
Pros
- Easy to Use
- SS version is durable
- Visually Pleasing
- Weather Proof
Cons
- ABS not as durable as SS
- Only works when wind blow
Best Uses
- Cabin top
- Outdoor
Comments about Vent O Mate:
The stainless steel covered model looks great and protects the plastic from the UV damage. Black plastic might be more durable for installations without the SS cover. Although it only works when there is a breeze, it doesn't draw any other energy. I like the simplicity, and the fact that there are no moving parts other than the damper.

- Easy installation
- Visually Pleasing

Comments about Vent O Mate:
I bought this as a replacement for the deck vent on my 1978 Catalina. It appears to have been what was originally used, because the screws lined up precisely on the existing holes.
I could feel the air moving in just a slight breeze, so it appears to work. Time will tell whether it will leak when the spring thunderstorms (hailstorms, tornadoes, etc.) come, but at this point, I like it!
