This rugged multi-purpose portable power center is perfect for marine, automotive or home emergency use. Use it as a power source for 110V AC or 12V DC applications such as computers, TVs, fax machines, audio, fans, electrical tools, etc. It can also start your car engine in an emergency situation. Features an 18Ah maintenance-free battery and a built-in 400W inverter with two AC outlets and one DC outlet, compressor with gauge, charge level indicator and worklight. Jumper cables nest neatly at each end and the airhose stores in a compartment at the back. It also boasts a high-intensity five-LED light, built-in AM/FM radio, convenient USB power port, and a handy audio input socket suitable for iPod connection!

Previous review noted that the casing, especially on the bottom, was warped. The manufacturer still has not fixed that problem. My product arrived with the casing not quite right, and the Power Dome does not sit on a level surface in a stable way - it rocks. While this defect probably will not impair performance, it is annoying and detracts from its appeal.

I was testing the inverter by powering a 120V lamp with a 10 Watt light bulb installed. After two minutes I heard several loud pops and heavy smoke started billowing out of the Power Dome. I do NOT recommend this product, especially for a boat.

I use this to inflate tires mostly this is second unit I lucked out the first time and got free replacement so if buying get the 2 year extended service plan if using the air compressor like I do other than that great little power supply for computer or light *table Lamo) during power failure down side is long charge time.

The unit I recieved had a defective warped external casing (bubble in plastic base that would not allow it to rest flat).
Quality control inspection sticker on unit - but no way they could have actually inspected it without seeing this - they are just putting stickers on everything and shipping it.

I use this product as a "jump starter" for my boat battery. On several occasion I have arrived dock side only to find my battery had been discharged. Having the Power Dome has gotten my "on the water" without depending on other boater for support.

The Battery lasted under 3 years. I contacted Wagan for the replacement battery and their response was follow the link on our web page which takes you to interstate batteries. I tried that. No easy pick there. So I asked if they knew a model number and manufacturer of a replacement. And the answer was call interstate batteries they should be able to help you because Wagan tech department has no idea of what battery would replace the original. That kind of intelligent tech support convinced me to forget the battery and look for a replacement unit altogether. Something I wish I knew before I bought the one I have.
